In this post, I’ll be talking about Jade! Floyd’s twin brother! The other eel from the Coral Sea.

Looks like Sebastian! Even someone did an edit of it.

Jade reminds me of a certain butler, the way he compose himself and his interest in his hobby does reminds you of Sebastian from Black Butler (黒執事).

Jade is another calculative student in the group, he knows what both Azul and Floyd are thinking about without even telling him more.

In Azul’s ceremonial robe SR card personal story (this is one heck of a sentence), he helped Azul in making the toner for Vil. In which he had to wring Floyd out for that eel essence.

Poor Floyd, but he was the only one who couldn’t catch what Azul was talking about. Jade knew where Azul was going when he was stopped and went closer to him, asking how Jade could maintain such skin.

Like in the previous post, most of the cards I collected (or gotten from gacha), were all of the Ceremonial Robes. But for Jade, I hadn’t received his ceremonial robe card.

The only cards I received are his Lab coat card, the Happy Beans Day SR card, and several R cards of his.

This was the ‘Groovy’ version of his, Happy Beans day event card.

I don’t use Jade’s cards at all. Cause his status are a little low, lower than Floyd and Azul in my batch. Azul is the strongest amongst the trio.

In his lab coat personal story, Jade told Floyd of his findings when he was doing his regular mountain stroll and picked some weird looking vegetations from it.

Floyd is a straightforward person as he showed him his facial expression of the said weird stuff that he brought back.

And those weird stuff are actually, mushrooms. Floyd is sick of Jade’s late-night snacks, which have been mostly mushrooms. Jade even replied that he has been eating them for 10 days straight.

Floyd even said not to drag him into his craziness. Floyd even suggested him to throw all the mushrooms out and they’ll be fine living out their lives out.

Jade… as Jade felt bad about throwing them away, saying it was bad karma and thought of giving them to the cafeteria to cook them.

Floyd just gave up, not understanding a single word that his twin says.

  He hates mushrooms!

And so, the cafeteria ended up using the mushrooms that Jade supplied to them, resulting with a very content Silver who thought the mushroom risotto was the best.

After hearing that from Silver, dear Jade went on an experiment. He tries to cultivate them, well, the edible ones that is. Azul even stepped in and say not to sell them anymore in Mostro Lounge.

Even Azul is afraid of it 🤣.

The cuteness in Jade with his obsession on mushrooms is very funny. Cause Floyd and Azul was trying to stop Jade in doing anymore food with mushrooms in it (this somehow really reminds me of Sebastian from Black Butler where he keeps the cats secretly from Ciel).

The funniest part of this personal story was Lilia asking Silver if his risotto was poisoned, since he freeze up after one spoon 🤣. Lilia even scolded Silver to stop doing that, it was giving him way too many surprise for his elderly heart.

In the Happy Beans day event, Jade got lost in the beginning of his story. And again, he acquired another shroom. Next, he visited Sam and both spoke in a secret password thingy before Sam let’s him into a secret room.

The person he wanted to meet wasn’t just Sam, it was a certain ‘Smith’ san – who was Idia. Idia actually made a powerful Bean Shooter (he has been doing this for a couple of times).

But as a payment to Sam, Jade has to give him the icicle shroom that he had carefully cultivated in a borrowed land in the botanical gardens.

After getting the bean shooter from Idia and Sam, Azul came searching for him. Of course Azul knows where he was at and Jade slowly sneaked away to hide from him.

Azul brought Jack (cause he can track his scent) along into Sam’s shop and they saw a dummy in Jade’s clothes. Jack was pulling too hard on it and the stuff that was tied onto the dummy fell on him, one of them has Durian Juice in a bottle. This made Jack out of commission and they had to search for Jade blindly.

And guess what!? Jade was hiding in the freezer!

Even Idia praised Jade for his calculations that Azul would team up with Jack. And with that, Jade left to search for Yuu and Cater (by looking at Cater’s magicam).

Jade started stalking in the forest, far away from the location where Cater was last posted. Behind the two were Trey and Rook from the opposing team. This is where Jade test the shooter out on them – he was very satisfied with it.

In the recent event, Ghost Marriage, Jade was given a slap to the face because Floyd had to tatter him out about the poisonous flower that he gave to the Ghost Bride.

Floyd sabotages his brother.

Vil said that Jade would be successful in the mission if Floyd hadn’t said that. Floyd, being Floyd, he didn’t want to feel left out – that’s why he sabotage Jade.

There wasn’t much on this guy because those were the only cards that I have of him. Except the ghost marriage event, he was there as a cameo 🤭.

Well, I’ll this here and see if I would like to post more characters and my opinion on here.

Trey Clover

With most of my gaming pals that knew me inside out, they know that I would go after guys with glasses in every otome games.

However, Trey didn’t attract me that much, cause that’s Leona’s job 🤣.

Trey is a fatherly figure in Heartslabyul and the pastry chef that jokes about putting oyster sauce in the pastry to make it savoury (please do not put that in! 🤣).

I don’t have many of Trey’s cards, I only just received his SR ceremonial robes card (seriously, I’m collecting those cards for real 🤣).

But in the Heartslabyul episode, Trey and Riddle have been friends since they were kids. Trey didn’t want to stop Riddle while he was being a tyrant in the dorm, because he was afraid that he would be sad.

This made both Ace and Deuce to scold him, even Cater didn’t know what to say to Trey about Riddle’s attitude.

Being vice leader in Heartslabyul, he has his hands tied up when Riddle requests went over board during him being a tyrant.

I don’t have any of his cards ‘Groovy’ out yet.

His unique magic, Doodle Suit, for a short time he has an ability to so-called overwrite things to ones liking or imaginations. It can be either looks or even the taste of a certain food. Just like that one chapter where Cater requested him to change the few mont blancs flavor into the things that they wished for.

In the event, Ghost Marriage, Trey was slapped for not knowing the proper way of winning the Ghost Bride’s heart (he said something about comparing her to a pale cloth). And his reply to that?

“I knew it…”

I didn’t expect that this event is funny, because Trey has his funny side but with a limit. And he was clueless in the situation, even stating that they were from an all-boys boarding school, they don’t have any experience in that.

Wait till I ‘Groovy’ his SR card and I will get back to him here in a part two, so I could understand him more.

Jade Leech!

Malleus Draconia

As what we had read in his personal story, he stated that he wasn’t any near to his beloved grandmother, Maleficent.

This fae was what everyone was avoiding.

He even stated about being not invited like Maleficent and maybe was pouting or something that made Lilia explained that Maleficent had poise when she wasn’t invited and not acting like how he was.

The few times you might think that Malleus was a little childish, was during the time where his tamagochi had problems.

In his Lab coat SR card story, he didn’t know what to do with the tamagochi and Deuce saw this and offered his help. After getting the tamagochi fixed, Malleus thanked him and walks away happy.

He looks contempt in the picture, but when it comes to his ceremonial robe SR card, he had this menancing look.

I think I’m collecting all of the Ceremonial robe SR cards 😶

That look… maybe it was because he was talking to Leona? Maybe he was trying to be intimidating towards his rival in Magift?

Or it has something to do with Leona telling him about his horns being a coat hanger and some wall decoration.

But it was funny that even Leona was caught up with this fae.

Like how Malleus explains about the Fairy Gala event and everyone was looking at him like, “they are fairies like you, shouldn’t you join in?”.

Malleus shook his head and say that they were nature fairies and not Dragon fairies like him, even they would be afraid of him.

I don’t know much about Malleus because we have not gotten to Diasomnia’s episode, but there are a lot of fan theories around twitter and pixiv.

The theories included that he might be the one to overblot in the story, but who knows?

Like everyone guessed it would be Kalim and didn’t expect it was Jamil to overblot.

Anyway, back to Malleus.

To everyone, Malleus was hard to approach, except the MC, who didn’t know about him (for now). That’s why Malleus said something about to let MC naming him rather than letting them know of his name.

And by the end of episode 4, Lilia gave a holiday card to the MC where it was signed by a person named, M.D.

It was obvious who it was since we know his name, but it was funny how he was always being forgotten to be invited to many meetings and so called gatherings.

Lilia had to go in his stead way too many times. But the Fairy Gala event had him there for the meeting, and the conversation is funny.

This tall (well, his height is 202cm, including his horns) fae loves to walk around the compound of the Ramshackle dorm (the dorm where MC resides in) and admires the gargoyles around it.

Walking around the compound has been a thing of his, another thing he likes to do (towards Sebek and Silver) is to disappear in sight or not letting anyone know where he went, making the two so-called guards of his, running around in search for him.

Malleus is mysterious person in the story, but as time goes by, we see him slowly opening up to the MC and giving them some sort of advice.

Nothing much for me to write to be honest, but I will update it again once he has more cards out.

The next character I would like to write is…

Azul Ashengrotto

Surprise, surprise!

Yes, it is Azul, the merman himself that is in my list.

All of my friends were surprised that I add him to the mix.

Anyway, let me tell you why!

Azul is such a cutie, look at his picture in the MV, where the Leech brothers were looking through those contracts and the picture of a chubby octopus under all of those!

See the cute octopus under all those contracts? That’s Azul!🤣

This poor merman was bullied when he was little. In the story, an octopus merman was rare in the Coral Reefs and so, the merkids bullied Azul throughout the day.

Until he resolved himself in trying to be the best just like the Sea Witch (Ursula) and started studying how potions were made and excel in his studies.

He even made the transformation potion that Jade was talking about in episode 3.

Azul is smart, calculative and business minded. He opened Mostro Lounge on the campus where it operates as a lounge and where his ‘clients’ come to make a contract or deal with him.

When Leona went to Mostro Lounge with Ruggie to create havoc, all due to the MC and Grim making a lot of noise when he was trying to sleep so he could help them in destroying the contracts, Azul was mad. Seriously mad. All of the hard work he puts in to make his ‘clients’ sign a contract was all turn into dust, or sand cause that was Leona’s unique magic, King’s Roar.

Azul broke down and went into overblot mode. After fighting him and all, his episode about him being a kid was shown. There were multiple kids making fun of him, saying that he was a タコ野郎.

After the overblot incident and his episode, Azul woke up with Jade showing him the number of fingers. Then Floyd made fun at Azul, making Azul cry and wanted to go back into the octopus pot.

I laughed at episode 3 the most, cause The Little Mermaid was one of my favorites.

Who would have thought that Azul is a cheeky fella, where he gang up with Jade and Floyd to make Kalim feel bad for them for unable to join in the Scarabia dorm’s training session.

Even Grim says that their acting was lousy!

Later, during Jamil’s overblot, Azul made Floyd signed a contract with him. Using Floyd’s unique magic, Bind the Heart, to reflect Jamil’s Snake Whisper – leaving Floyd with All for One‘s voice.

And when they were thrown out to the end of the desert, Kalim used his unique magic, Oasis Maker, to make a river for the Leech brothers to transform and become taxis for them.

However, Azul knew that if he transform – he’ll make matters worst. Like how Jade says it, “he’s too slow in that form…”. Making Azul embarass from it.

See? Azul is cute!

Oh, by the way. Azul is apparently good at everything. I skipped this part in episode 3 to episode 4. Well, in the beginning of episode 3 – after the MC and Jack knew who was behind the forming of the anemones on Ace, Deuce and Grim’s head, the duo stalked Azul for a day.

He was good in singing. He was good in alchemy too. And a plus side, he can speak fluent animal language – as shown when he was translating Trein’s cat.

Azul hates to lose.

During his personal card story, his R card that is.

It was showing how Azul hates losing to a board game that Idia brought over. It’s like monopoly but it was about life and luck. Hence, he practice how to throw the die. This had Idia taken aback and acknowledge Azul to be a straightforward, persistent hard worker.

Another silly thing that Azul does is, straddling his broom without taking off. Vargas kept asking him why and Azul snapped at him for it.

He is afraid to fly.

I remembered that Vargas asked Jamil to help Azul out, “what an irresponsible teacher,”.

Azul snapped at Jamil, saying that he was walking on land for barely a year and should deserve some praises for it.

He blames the broom tho.

Azul tries not to receive any help from Jamil, he doesn’t want to be in debt and complains that Jamil might return for an absurb recompensation.

Jamil just couldn’t stand him and his calculative ways. Even chidding him of being a dorm leader who couldn’t even fly.

After a gruelling argument with Azul, Jamil just gave up and said he wants cheat notes for the next test. Just to make Azul feel happy to not be in debt to anyone – and he did agreed to Jamil’s way.

See what I meant, when I say that he could make his ‘clients’ want to sign a deal with him?

He would even blackmailed them, eh hem, like Grim. Who trashed Lucius (Trein’s pet cat), because the cat took his food away.

Azul had a photograph of Grim and Lucius’s fight in the staff room, he said he would show it to Trein cause he was looking for the offender.

This made Grim worried and agreed to help Azul out in Ortho’s situation.

Azul and his contracts are very popular in the game. Even Vil, the dorm leader of Pomefiore was seen in Mostro Lounge making a deal with Azul! It was his personal story for his Ceremonial Robe SR card.

After being ‘Groovy’ out.

To have 10 flowers which was growing in Pomefiore’s botanical garden, in exchange to make a better toner that Vil made.

He even requested Floyd to turn into his eel form to help out in making the potion for Vil, which Jade was seen wringling a dust cloth and snickering at his twin.

Poor Floyd, but Azul was thankful to him and told him that they will decide by a coin toss the next time (I’m pretty sure it will land on Floyd again) they needed to make another toner for Vil.

In Azul’s Happy Beans Day event, he was in the 鬼 team. And everybody acted as if they really shot real bullets at one and another, some even did their dying wishes to their teammates 🤣.

He was so calculative, that he was calculating on how to receive the rare item in the supply boxes a year ago.

Azul sucks during P.E.

After explaining how he was able to get the scanner with the help of Riddle, he let’s Deuce and Riddle go because he was in debt to Riddle. Then he buzz Jack about their situation and to attack the two.

All because he wanted to win the event…

Jamil Viper

Surprisingly…

Jamil sneaked himself into the list of my top 6. I, myself, was surprised by it too.

At first, I wasn’t attracted to him with his appearances, but that changed after hearing his voice.

He has a voice that isn’t low like Malleus or Leona. And he doesn’t have that high pitched voice like Kalim or Riddle. His voice isn’t as husky too. I don’t know how to say this, but yeah… I like his voice… until the Fairy Gala event, his voice changed.

In episode 4, he was the first to appear, directing the others from the dorm in cooking. Making sure that it’s up to standard.

Grim and the MC asked why they were there, the students in the dorm replied them that it was Kalim’s idea for them to spend the holidays in Scarabia.

Jamil hushed them, stating that they should not talk like that about Kalim.

We know where this is going when we know that Jamil was inspired by Jafaar from Aladdin. This snake had even put a spell on the MC, well… using his unique magic on the MC.

But hold it! This isn’t the first time you meet Jamil!

In the prologue and episode 2 is where you met up with him.

Anyway, back to my opinion.. again!

In his overblot story, the used of being a slave to Kalim’s family was shown.

When Kalim tries to treat Jamil as a friend, Jamil’s parents would pull him away and reminded him of his status as a slave.

This made him feel lonely. That’s the reason why he acted so distant and lets Kalim be better than him, even though he could score better during exams and whatnot.

Jamil’s unique magic, Snake Whisper, is seriously Jafaar’s hypnotic powers!

Just like Ruggie, but Jamil’s unique magic can take over the entire dorm where Ruggie could only do it on one person (except the time where he took Azul’s potion to sabotage the Magift competition with Leona’s orders).

Jamil can placed his magic spell on the same person, over and over again. Look at the MC, they had been placed in his spell twice! Once is in the kitchen in the campus and the other was where Jamil wants them to stay in Scarabia.

Even Kalim wasn’t spared by his spell. He placed Kalim in his spell countless of times.

In the begining of this post, I stated that I like his voice until the Fairy Gala event.

If you didn’t noticed this, you should go to his profile and listen to his card voice clips. I even did a video for it in Instagram.

In Fairy Gala event, his voice was heard as a more higher pitch than his previous voice. And it made everyone who played this game noticed this little change.

Jamil does have hobbies that he enjoys doing, and one of them is, break dancing.

This was stated when he was asked about it during the event.

Kalim was surprised when Vil said that they were bad and he had to used them as backdrops for Leona.

Even Jamil wasn’t safe from Vil’s sharp tongue.

I kinda like how responsible Jamil is during the Fairy Gala event. He asked Vil if he could take a break and find out what was wrong with him.

In this event, what made me laughed was the part that he found Idia dancing to an idol group. And Idia starts mumbling about saying goodbye to his school life.

And as always, Jamil is a very calculative person. He threw out a bait for Idia to catch, which he did bit on it. Jamil even went along and gets some information from Idia.

Then as sudden as it is. Idia starts explaining about how the fans experience in the idol’s concerts and even says that it was because fans like Jamil, deteriote the content.

After being ‘Groovy’ out. I prefer the previous card picture than this.

Jamil has a lot of funny moments in his personal stories. Like his Ceremonial Robe SR card.

Sebek was lost and Jamil had to sent him back to Diasomnia, then he was surprised at Kalim following him.

His funny moments were short and most of time it was between him and Kalim, where he would scold Kalim for something he has done.

Being another tsundere in the group, he would just turn away or pulls his hood down where no one could see his face.

His awkwardness was the one that pulled me to him, so it wasn’t his voice 🤣! The more I read his personal stories for each cards, the more I like him.

And how he says his unique magic was… 😳! Seriously! Snake Whisper! He says it in such a sexy way, I can’t believe my ears!!! Not even Leona nor Floyd does that! 🤣

So…

I’m ending it here. The next character is what my friends say that it was uncommon for me to even choose, as they know of my preferences.

Floyd Leech

Floyd’s SR card being ‘Groovy’ out.

Floyd Leech, inspired by one of the eels that was with Ursula from the Little Mermaid.

At first, I didn’t really like him that much but somehow he grew onto me.

He is such a moody child, always does what he wants when he is in the mood. Even his twin brother, Jade, had to go by it. Not easy being his friend either, look at how Azul scolded him when he released his unique magic in the VIP room.

They argued for a bit before Jade told them that the MC and gang had ran away from them.

Anyway, back to my opinion.

First thing first.

I loved the Little Mermaid when I was a little girl. Seriously very little. About 3 or 4 years old.

My parents allowed me to watch it with my little brother. And my older cousins would teased me when I eat takoyaki, saying that I would turn into Ursula if I ate too many of it.

And here in Episode 3, this trio were introduced. And the only merman that caught my attention was, Floyd.

He has the same 声優 who voiced Karma from Assassination Classroom and Bakugou from BNHA. I didn’t bother about who was the voice behind it all, but Floyd’s characteristic had me listening to him more.

At first, he comes out as the yankee in the group (the part where he says that Ace, Deuce and Grim had no rights to complain, then told them to keep quiet / shut up). Action speaks louder than words typed of guy. But as the story progress (and tonnes of nicknames being called, from little shrimp, to crab, to mackerel, next a sea urchin, and to earless seal…), you’ll see that Floyd does things in his pace and doesn’t even bothers about anything.

Jade had to be in the same class as Floyd, the reason? Floyd might end up failing in it.

You will also noticed his playfull side when the 小エビちゃん and co. visited the Coral Reef. When Deuce asked what they were, cause of their original merman form, Floyd answered him in such a childlike way.

“No, we’re eels~”

In one of his personal stories, his ceremonial robe SR card, he was in Scarabia and was shown some moves.

Floyd is learning some new dance moves while in Scarabia’s dorm.

A few of his favorite things to do (except stalking 小エビちゃん), was playing basketball and dancing. So the dancing part did take part in his personal stories.

Floyd is tall. He is one of the giants in the campus. Towering at 191cm in height (although Malleus is 202cm)!

What else should I say about him… ah, yes! In episode 4, the Scarabia dorm’s story.

I laughed when I heard Floyd’s voice changed. It creep me out cause that voice sounded like, All for One from BNHA!

And when Azul returned him his voice, he said he should do that more often and didn’t mind if Azul kept his unique magic.

All I could remember is… Floyd the childish teen, a yandere and a yankee all jumble into one.

Right, next up on the list is…

Jamil Viper.

I’m gonna do my top 6 first before doing the rest of the characters.

Leona Kingscholar

Welcome to the Villains’ world.

This lion, is one of my favorites in the game.

I’m actually a sucker for guys who looks and sound like him. Honestly, I was very happy when I got two of his SSR cards for the Fairy Gala event in just one try.

Leona was inspired by Scar in Disney’s, The Lion King. His name is also a wordplay in 日本語.

Leona, Leo for lion. Then there is his surname, Kingscholar. King… I don’t have to define that. But the word, Scholar, doesn’t mean he is a scholar. In 日本語, Scar’s name is pronounce as, Su-ka. And how they pronounce Scholar is, Su-ka-ra. It’s so obvious when you listen to them say it.

Like in the cartoon or movie, Leona is the second Prince of Afterglow Savanna, and does not have the go at being King. Just like Scar. Plus, he has a scar on his left eye just like his counterpart in Disney.

I remember watching a clip that was done by a fan, where this animator took some parts of the Lion King and replaced it with Leona and Cheka (his counterpart in Disney, Simba). It was adorable and warm. Here is the link to the said person’s youtube if you want to watch it.

Uncle Leona by Laizy- boy

I’m not good in translations, but I can link you guys to some tumblr post or you can find ryota’s musings in wordpress here. They did a good job in translating it in English (because English isn’t my first language).

In this platform here, I would like to post more about my opinion of each episodes I read and the characters itself. So, today… we start off with Leona.

In the very first few parts in the game, Leona came off as a lazy student. He was being held back a year due to him slacking off.

However, what intrigued me was that he is so competitive when it comes to Malleus. They go head to head in their sports called, Magical Shift, or short, Magift.

Savanaclaw has been losing to Diasomnia in that sport for a while and Leona isn’t happy about it. He even tried to sabotage the competition in episode 2, where he ordered Ruggie to placed his unique magic on the spectators and collied with the students of Diasomnia. In his episode, after his overblot – in my point of view, I don’t think he dislikes his brother, Farena. Maybe something happened in the past, where made him think about being the second Prince and not be able to be King.

I’m sure that he was teased when he was younger, if not teased and being made fun of – maybe he was bullied. That’s why he had that way of thinking (?).

Right, back to the story.

In the first few chapters in the first episode, where the main character met Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade. They will come across Leona who was taking a nap in the botanical gardens. Sure enough, you stepped on his tail and was going to be prepared to get killed by him. Of course Ruggie came to the rescue when he came searching for his lazy upperclassman and dorm leader.

As for Ruggie. Leona likes to deny that Ruggie is a good friend, but he likes to say that he is a good servant. In the short manga that was done for the promo of this game, Leona slipped something about Ruggie being a vice dorm leader. But in game, there is no vice dorm leader in Savanaclaw.

I think Leona is a huge tsundere who denies everything about being friends with who and who.

When I received Leona’s ceremonial robe SR card and read through his story in it. I laughed when I read that Ruggie sent Leona’s clothes to the laundry, only to get his ceremonial robe switched out.

“Has the ears part always been like this?” I laughed and noticed the picture where Leona’s sister in law requested a picture of him in his ceremonial robe. Even Ruggie said that the hood has always been the most uncomfortable part of the robe where their animal ears gets pushed down by the hood.

When they finally realized that the robe belongs to Malleus, Leona commanded Ruggie to send it back. Ruggie refuse to go alone due to the rumors about Malleus.

That story for the card ends, but it continued to Malleus ceremonial robe SR card. That’s another story for another post.

Leona’s ceremonial SR card

Leona’s appearance is kinda laid back. He wears sandals with his school uniform.

As being the feline, he does nap around the campus and most of the time doing that, he skips classes.

Ruggie has his hands full when it comes to keep Leona in his place. From being his alarm clock, to being a cleaner for his room, and up to the point where he has to do the dirty work for him.

And during the Fairy Gala event, we can see another side of Leona who gracefully struts down the runway and mesmerizing the fairies and the Queen of fairies. Even Ruggie was taken aback from it.

Well, not just Ruggie. The whole gang that was up for taking the crystal back were all surprised by this side.

After the demonic training by Vil and Crewel, Leona does a pretty good job.

In July, there will be a new event. Not sure if they would release the new episode that introduces the Pomefiore dorm’s students, but I can’t wait to guess who would be overblot. Would it be Vil? Or would it be Epel?

I shall end my opinion here for now and will continue with another character in the next post.
